From the birth of the Nation to the present day, the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts (the AHAC) has been a vital part of the military history of the United States of America. It’s Museum and Armory is located on the Fourth Floor of historic Faneuil Hall in downtown Boston, and contains artifacts, documents, medals, paintings, photographs and other memorabilia that date from the early 1600s.Organized in 1638, the AHAC was originally located in the 1659 Town House, built through the generosity of Robert Keayne, the first commander of the Company, and replaced in 1711 by the building now called the Old State House. In 1746 the Company relocated to Faneuil Hall and since 1880 has been the sole occupant of the fourth floor Armory of this historic building.
